Siglent's SDS2000X Plus series Digital Storage Oscilloscopes are available in bandwidths of 100 MHz, 200 MHz, and 350 MHz, have a maximum sample rate of 2 GSa/s, a maximum record length of 200 Mpts/ch, and up to 4 analog channels + 16 digital channels mixed-signal analysis ability. The SDS2000X Plus series employs Siglent’s SPO technology with a maximum waveform capture rate of up to 120,000 wfm/s (normal mode, up to 500,000 wfm/s in Sequence mode), 256-level intensity grading display function plus a color temperature display mode. It also employs an innovative digital trigger system with high sensitivity and low jitter. The trigger system supports multiple powerful triggering modes including serial bus triggering. History waveform recording, Sequence acquisition, Search and Navigate functions allow for extended waveform records to be captured, stored, and analyzed. An impressive array of measurement and math capabilities, options for a 50 MHz waveform generator, as well as serial decoding, mask test, bode plot, and power analysis are also features of the SDS2000X Plus. A 10-bit acquisition mode helps to satisfy applications that require more than 8-bit resolution. The large 10.1’’ capacitive touch screen supports multi-touch gestures, while the remote web control, mouse and external keyboard support greatly improve the operating efficiency of the SDS2000X Plus. The Siglent SDS1104X-E employs a new generation of SPO (Super Phosphor Oscilloscope) technology that provides excellent signal fidelity and performance. Geheel in overeenstemming met de huidige trend gaat de auteur in het bijzonder in op 'mobiele' voedingen en op de techniek van schakelende voedingen. Ook wordt aandacht besteed aan het feit dat constante-stroombronnen ten opzichte van spanningsbronnen een steeds belangrijker rol gaan spelen. Naast de vereiste theoretische achtergronden en principes voor het ontwerpen en bouwen van eigen voedingsschakelingen biedt dit boek ook praktische toepassingsvoorbeelden, zoals het vervangen van defecte nettransformatoren, de voeding voor elektronica tijdens fietstochten of het aansturen van LED‘s in de verlichtingstechniek. Auteur Franz Peter Zantis is afgestudeerd als ingenieur communicatietechniek en houdt zich als elektronicus bezig met energie-installaties. Tijdens een onderzoeksproject heeft hij zich grondig verdiept in de stroomvoorziening van zelfstandig werkende apparaten en hij heeft talrijke artikelen over schakelende voedingen gepubliceerd.

Two reasons can be identified for the immense success of the Arduino platform. First, the cheap, ready to go processor board greatly simplifies the introduction to hardware. The second success factor is the free and open-source programming suite that does not require an installation procedure. Simple entry-level examples ensure rapid successes. Complex selection procedures for parameters like the microprocessor version or interface settings are not required. The first sample programs can be uploaded to the Arduino board, and tested, in a matter of minutes. The Arduino user is supported by an array of software libraries. However, the daily increasing volume of libraries poses initial problems to the newcomer, and the way ahead may be uncertain after a few entry-level examples. In many cases, detailed descriptions are missing, and poorly described projects tend to confuse rather than elucidate. Clear guidance and a single motto are missing, usually owing to the projects having been created by several different persons—all with different aims in mind. This book represents a different approach. All projects are presented in a systematical manner, guiding into various theme areas. In the coverage of must-know theory great attention is given to practical directions users can absorb, including essential programming techniques like A/D conversion, timers and interrupts—all contained in the hands-on projects. In this way readers of the book create running lights, a wakeup light, fully functional voltmeters, precision digital thermometers, clocks of many varieties, reaction speed meters, or mouse controlled robotic arms. While actively working on these projects the reader gets to truly comprehend and master the basics of the underlying controller technology.
