Small & wearable controller for addressable LED strips and pixels such as WS2810, WS2811, LPD8806, Neopixel and more.
Easy to program with the Arduino IDE
The Atmega32U4, which is also used in the Arduino Leonardo, can easily be programmed via micro-USB connector using the Arduino IDE.
It has a built-in USB/serial interface and is supplied pre-programmed by Elektor-LABS with the Leonardo bootloader (and a simple test program).
A (double-sided) circuit board has been designed.
5-V LED strips with individually controllable LEDs can be used. A MCP1642B voltage regulator powered by two AA batteries, provides stable 3.3 V or 5.5 V.
Two buttons have been added for future use: you can claim these in your own sketches to start certain actions.
The small test program pre-programmed in the provided controller only works with LED strips of the type WS2812B. To avoid overload caused by a too long strip, only the first two LEDs will light up. A more elaborate free demo sketch
makes extensive use of the functions available with different types of LEDs.
